About Helen

I am interested in people and how we relate to each other and to the world around us, and this motivates my work as a counsellor.

From my own experience, and that of those I have worked with, I know that life itself throws up many challenges that get in the way of enjoying and living life to the full. I like being with people, sharing hope and coming alongside to find the ways through.

I enjoy working with people of all ages in counselling – this includes children and young people, students and young adults, as well as everyone older than this! I believe counselling is appropriate for all ages, and I adapt and adjust to the needs of each individual so that the support I offer is right for each person.

I like to support couples because I know that most couples experience difficulties in their relationship, and I like to offer hope and help find a way through.

In addition to my private practice, I have worked for many years in local schools both as a school counsellor as well as previously in other roles supporting children and young people with learning or behavioural difficulties, and those from diverse ethnic and cultural backgrounds. For several years I also worked with two low-cost counselling centres in Exeter, providing support to adults.

This area has been my home for a large part of my adult life and I love living in this part of Devon with all the beautiful open spaces of coast and countryside close by.

If you would like to talk about how I might be able to help you, or someone you care about, please contact me to to find out more about what I can offer.
